- Student Records: 15 years from the date of last enrollment or until the student reaches age 25, whichever is longer
- Financial Records: 7 years to comply with tax and accounting requirements
- Communication Records: 3 years from the date of communication
- Website Analytics: 26 months (Google Analytics default)
- Marketing Consent Records: As long as consent remains active or until withdrawal
Data Deletion Process
When retention periods expire, we securely delete or anonymize personal data. You may also request earlier deletion of your data as outlined in the "Delete Your Personal Data" section.

Parents and eligible students (students who are 18 years of age or older) have the following rights under FERPA:

- Right to Seek Amendment: The right to seek amendment of the student's education records that the parent or eligible student believes are inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise in violation of the student's privacy rights
- Right to Consent to Disclosures: The right to provide written consent before the school discloses personally identifiable information from the student's education records, except to the extent that FERPA authorizes disclosure without consent
- Right to File a Complaint: The right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education concerning alleged failures by the school to comply with FERPA

Directory Information
FERPA allows schools to disclose "directory information" without consent, unless the parent has opted out. GradePower Learning considers the following as directory information:
- Student's name, grade level, and enrollment status
- Participation in officially recognized activities and sports
- Dates of attendance and graduation

Ontario Law-25 (CPPA) Compliance
GradePower Learning complies with Ontario's Law-25 (Consumer Privacy Protection Act, CPPA) for our Ontario-based customers and operations. This legislation strengthens privacy protections for Canadian consumers.
