GradePower Learning Valrico is a learning center in Valrico, Florida, at 2470 Bloomingdale Avenue, Suite 1330. We are inside the BayCare Health Hub at the corner of Bloomingdale and Lithia Pinecrest. Use any entrance; we're on the first floor, across from the coffee kiosk and closest to the gym entrance.

We work with families from Valrico, Bloomingdale, FishHawk, Brandon, and Lithia. Our programs include after-school tutoring, SAT® and ACT® test prep, and the Day Academy for homeschool support. Each program is built around how your child learns, with small groups and individualized instruction. At GradePower Learning Valrico, the teaching approach is built around how your child learns, not just what they study. We use SQ-RCRC strategies and a cognitive learning approach to help students understand their own thinking, build study habits, and gain confidence. Each summer, GradePower Learning Valrico runs the Summer Day Academy, a three-hour morning program that keeps learning going while school is out. Andrew Learned owns the center. He opened it in 2013 and lives in FishHawk Ranch with deep local roots, having attended Alafia Elementary and the University of Tampa. Andrew has helped students earn Bright Futures Scholarships and gain admission to schools like the University of Florida and Florida State University. He is also a Navy veteran and former state representative for Brandon, Riverview, and Bloomingdale, where he worked on education policy including the Purple Star School program.

Philip Cottone is our Center Director. With more than 10 years in education, his background includes gifted education across elementary through high school. He focuses on helping students think more deeply, stay curious, and develop strong critical thinking skills. Philip also works closely with parents and educators to build supportive learning environments.

Therese Doebler joined the center in 2017 and serves as an administrator. A University of South Florida electrical engineering graduate, she is a longtime SAT® and ACT® tutor and has been named a franchise-wide Teacher of the Year. Through relocations, deployments, and uncertain seasons, she has kept students learning and the center steady. Outside work, she plays professional Ultimate Frisbee and brings that same teamwork to her students.
