Our after-school tutoring helps students strengthen key academic skills, homework habits, and confidence in a calm, structured setting. Center Director Philip Cottone leads our Nocatee center. He has more than 10 years in education and focuses on gifted learners. He has worked with students from elementary through high school and builds approaches that encourage curiosity, creativity, and advanced thinking. He also works with parents, teachers, and school leaders to create supportive learning environments.

Owner Andrew Learned opened GradePower Learning Valrico in 2013. He uses individualized programs and cognitive learning strategies, and his work has focused on helping students pursue Bright Futures Scholarships and college admission, including schools like the University of Florida and Florida State University. He is a U.S. Navy officer and veteran and served in the Florida House of Representatives, where he worked on education policy.

Therese Doebler joined GradePower Learning Valrico in 2017. She has kept the center steady through the pandemic, a relocation, and military deployments. A University of South Florida electrical engineering graduate, she is a longtime SAT® and ACT® tutor and a franchise-wide Teacher of the Year.
